Jr Deputy Academy

Program overview

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office Junior Deputy Academy is a unique experience offered by the Sheriff’s Office for high school students. It gives students an inside look into the world of law enforcement. It is a two-week class available for high school students, including those who have just graduated. It runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Iron County Sheriff’s Office and is offered annually. There is no cost for tuition or materials, and lunches are provided. However, the student is required to purchase uniforms (these costs are usually less than $100). If this cost is too much for the student to bear, other arrangements can be made (no student will be turned away for financial reasons).

If interested, please fill out the application packet below and return it to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office prior to May 11, 2026. The academy runs from June 8–19, 2026 as a two-week program. Ages are 14–19. Only 15 students will be accepted into the program.
