Application for Public Event Assistance

The Iron County Sheriff's Office Volunteer Posse is available to assist nonprofit organizations and municipalities with traffic control and event monitoring at special events. Depending on the event and organization, there may be a charge for these services.

Posse members are not sworn peace officers and do not have arrest or enforcement authority. Events involving alcohol or anticipated crowd-control concerns must also request sworn law enforcement.

The Posse does not provide the following services:

  1. Parking cars at an event.
  2. Security for cash collected during an event.
  3. Removing people who are causing a disturbance.

Request requirements:

  1. The requesting organization must be nonprofit. Other organizations may be charged for services.
  2. Submitting a request does not guarantee that the Posse can provide assistance.
  3. Requests should be submitted at least three weeks before the event. Requests with less notice may not be accommodated.
